Middle school students love to be interactive. A great way to get them engaged in learning is by teaching with task cards. Students in middle school have to learn the parts of speech which can be boring, but you can make it fun with these task cards. Teachers can play scoot, give the cards out for students to work in partners, or make a game by having the students see how many cards teams can get correct. Use dry erase boards if you want to work from the smartboard. If you play scoot, have the students use a clipboard so they can easily write on their answer sheet.
